Chad (Ocho-Cinco) Johnson

Chad Johnson has had one hell of a career in the NFL but his funny antics make him loved by everyone. Chad Johnson went to a few small colleges until he transferred to Oregon State and killed it on the football team. He’s a wide receiver and led his team to an 11-1 season where he broke several school records. Chad was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2001 and during his time in the NFL racked up 67 touchdowns and over 10,000 yards. Chad has had some publicity stunts but his biggest one occurred in 2008 when he Changed his name to Chad Ocho Cinco. Ocho Cinco means eighty-five in Spanish, his football number. Chad has also played in the CFL for a season and was even on a Mexican football team for a game where he dominated the competition. In the NFL he was known as a diva and has came up with some of the best touchdown dances in history using props and has even hid items around the field. He will someday be in the NFL hall of fame. He was recently coaching receivers for the Cleveland Browns. Chad has even appeared on TV shows such as Dancing With The Stars, Blue Mountain State, The League, and even rode a full sized bull on television.

Chad Johnson Highlight Video

It seems to be that Chad’s Facebook page is no longer being updated regularly. The latest activity on his page was a shared video from the Facebook page “Shots Studios”. The last post created by Chad’s Facebook page was July of 2016. Before this it seemed that Chad’s page was posting every week with multiple posts on each day postings occurred. Most of his past postings are of random articles unrelated to his career or self, or posting of different memes. While surfing through his Facebook page I observed that many of his followers/fans were male. This may be connected to the postings on his page.  One of the videos on Chad’s Facebook page is of a Hip-Hop Dance Crew performing during an NBA Final’s halftime show.
It does not seem that when Chad was using Facebook he was communicating with his fans. For someone who only uses Facebook to repost memes he has a ton of followers. Almost 2 million people follow and have liked his page. An example of a meme from Chad’s Facebook is:

Chad Johnson on Instagram is known as “ochocinco”. He has 946,000 followers and follows 426. Chad has 5,268 Instagram posts. He posts a mixture of both pictures and videos on his account. You will notice that many of his postings are of himself or his children. Many of his videos are of himself working out as well as some proud father moments of his children. Chad is posting to his Instagram page usually everyday and even sometimes multiple times a day. From viewing his page, it does not seem like Chad interacts with his fans much. There are a few posts where he replied to a fans comment, but this seems to be very infrequent.

Twitter is definitely Chad Johnson’s forte. He has over 115K tweets and was listed as CNBC #1 on its list of “Most Influential Athletes in Social Media beating out LeBron James. CNBC List. Chad regularly communicates with fans and even plays FIFA with them on Xbox. He has over 3.5 million followers while only following 7200. Chad has been known to play FIFA online with fans and on some occasions he has drove to random peoples houses or fraternities just to play the video game with them.
Just last week, he went to Texas State and played FIFA with the guys all day.

I put FIFA in a category on its own because its so rare to see a celebrity socialize with fans this way. It started a few years ago when some kid tweeted he could beat @ochocinco in FIFA, Chad happened to be in the area, drove to the kids house and beat the kid badly. Since then he constantly puts out tweets asking people to either play online with him or meet up in person if you happen to be in the same area as him. Just last week he was at Texas State playing FIFA all day and even bought everyone pizza. Chad has claimed to be the best FIFA player in the world and holds a record of 86-2 or at least according to him that’s what is. He publicly gives away his Xbox name and encourages people to try and beat him. Chad has even come up with the hashtag #FIFA16KING #FIFA17KING where he finds people to play with

In The News
Chad was recently in the news as his son Chad Johnson Jr. made the football team at Venice High School. Like his father, he will be playing wide receiver. Although he wont be wearing #85, He may earn the nickname Diez y Ocho or eighteen

All in all, Chad (Ocho-Cinco) Johnson’s social media pages are doing quite well. He’s verified on everything, has topped the charts on each platform, and is great in the publics eye. One thing I would improve in his social media ring is definitely his Facebook. He’s not nearly as active with it as he is with twitter and Instagram and Facebook is where a lot of the fans go to discuss and argue everything. Instagram in my opinion is Chads more personal account where he posts pictures of his children. Twitter is the main account he uses to communicate with the general public, other celebrities and athletes.

Chad Johnson single handedly beats Texas State

Connor Mcgregor

Connor McGregor is one of my all time favorite fighters and from his first fight in the UFC I knew he was going to be big. He is really one of the most cocky people In the world and has talked his way into fighting Money Mayweather from living in the basement of his girlfriends parents house less than 10 years ago. He has 5,908,502 followers likes on Facebook and most of his posts are shared off of Instagram. While he only follows 450, he has over 15 MILLION followers and 1153 posts. His most recent picture has over 1million likes. Connors twitter is all about him which is funny because he has a bigger ego than Kanye West. Like Instagram, he follows 500 people and has over 4.5 million followers. Connor started from the bottom and worked hard to achieve a career in the UFC. At one point in his life he was collecting welfare from the government. A buddy introduced him to MMA and fell in love with the sport. Today Connors net worth is over 35 million and is only going up. He is set to make atleast $50 Million in his upcoming fight against Mayweather and will be set for life. Could you imagine making that much money to dance around a boxing ring for a few rounds. No matter how the fight goes, even if he loses, he’s still winning big time. All of his social media names are @TheNotoriousMMA

His Facebook profile picture is him holding one of his UFC title belts and his headliner is a picture of him with his nickname “The Notorious”. All of his recent posts are of him promoting the upcoming fight between him and Mayweather. This fight is going to be the biggest fighting event in boxing history. He has a ton of comments on every post mostly positive but a few negative ones slip in once in a while. He does not respond to a lot of things just posts a lot. In his about me section, he has a short biography about his fighting career and all of his achievements. Today is actually his birthday. He is also the first Irish fighter to hold two consecutive belts in different divisions. his five recent posts he has anywhere from 50k to 200k likes and thousands of comments. Connor is 100% irish and hails from Dublin.

Connors twitter picture and headline is of him holding both of his UFC title belts and celebrating with the crowd. His bio reads, “Two division UFC World Champion. Two division Cage Warriors World Champion. Making history EVERYDAY!!”. He dosent retweet often, but when he does its usually an article or picture including him in the headline. He has just over 6,000 tweets and joined in 2011. Just like with Facebook, he does not communicate much at all on social media unless is is talking to a really big celebrity. All of his social media accounts seem to be linked because all of the same photos are on there but there is a few different ones on each platform.

Connor seems to like Instagram the most, having over 1,100 posts mostly all about himself per usual. He’s posted over 30 times in the last 5 days and isn’t slowing down with the posts. His bio contains his website and bio reads “The face of the fight game”. His most liked photos and videos are of him either knocking someone out, having one of his belts, or recently him and Floyd Mayweather.

I think Instagram is his best social media account simply because all he does is post photos and what better of a site to do it on than Instagram. I assume because he’s always busy and so famous he docent really communicate with fans but interacts with all of us by posting multiple times a day. Connor is a legend working his way from the streets to making millions in one fight and showed us all how fast life can turn around for someone. This fight with Mayweather is on pace to be the biggest fight in history and the price to see it is $90 which is a lot for a fight. most people are going to have parties and split the cost of the event. Like I said before, no matter who loses this fight both of them still win because they’re pocketing over 50 million. Both of them are most likely going to retire and never fight again.

Case Study #2

images   Steven Kubitza is a blogger for the Cleveland Browns and posts on DPD or I Clicked on one of his blog links and as soon as I clicked on it a few video adds popped up on the side and I turned my volume completely off. As I was reading the article, the title and header stood out in big bold letters and his twitter handle appears next to his name. Also next to his name there’s signs that say tweet and share article. Scrolling down I noticed a few picture and video links about his articles. His about me section is really short and doesn’t give much information other than his name. a few of his posts have comments but no real conversation’s going on in them. One positive thing I have to say is how well the website is set up. It is really easy for me to navigate throughout the site and search certain stories. They even have the team store on there search bar. There menus are super simple to navigate and can see everything from the team schedule to there most recent draft articles. On the main page there isn’t nearly as many ads than in the articles but there’s one right in the middle of the screen. They even have a mobile app that looks really good and like the website easy to navigate. I was never big into blogging but this one seems pretty good besides for the add placement. What’s cool is they have there own podcast and update it regularly. The Footer of each article includes other new stories from them and if you keep scrolling down will automatically skip to the next story. There’s definitely some improvement this blog could improve on but its also doing some things right. I love that’s its super easy to navigate and I can search for articles easy. What’s also neat is how there’s a link for the team store and this years upcoming schedule. What’s not so neat is all the room used for add space and the adds that start playing at full volume. I don’t think the blog is too popular because the writers all only have a few hundred followers and they don’t get too many comments even on the most popular posts unless a more popular blog re posted it and gave them the website traffic. I do like the detail the articles get into and I may even subscribe to them closer to when football season officially starts.

My Favorite NFL Team

My favorite team may not be the greatest at this moment, but there was a time in football history where they were considered unstoppable. They had one of the first dynasties in football history going to 10 straight championships (1946-1955) and winning 7 of them. Led by Paul Brown one of the most innovative coaches in football history and Otto Graham a superior quarterback for that time. Jim Brown, a hall of fame fullback is still considered one of the best players in history and changed the run game forever. Jim racked up over 130 touchdowns in his career.

Believe it or not but Bill Belichick was actually there head coach from 1991-1995 taking the Browns to there last playoff game before relocating to Baltimore in 1996. Since there return to the NFL, The Browns have been the laughing stock of the league and this past season they finally had enough and put a whole new system into place.

The Browns fired most of there front office and hired head coach Hue Jackson and analytics genius Paul Depodesta. You may know Depodesta from the movie Moneyball who was played by Jonah Hill. Like the Boston Celtics, the Browns are making splashes in the NFL Draft and next year have 5 picks in the first two rounds of the draft. This past season the Patriots traded LB Jamie Collins to the browns for only a 3rd round draft pick. In March, the Browns have made the first ever “Basketball” like trade by a salary dump trade. The Houston Texans owed Brock Oswiler $16 million dollars and instead of paying him a huge contract they traded him (Browns pay his contract off), a 2018 2nd round draft pick, and a 2017 6th round pick to the Browns for just a 4th round draft pick.

The Browns this past offseason have signed some really big talent including CB Jason McCourty, DB Calvin Pryor, WR Kenny Britt,  OL J.C. Tretter, and OL Kevin Zeitler. in The first round of the NFL Draft they drafted Myles Garrett, Jabrill Peppers, and David Njoku. Three solid players that will help get The Browns back on track after such a long downfall.
